The radiocarbon dating method has many applications, from archaeology to forensics to name but two. But raw radiocarbon dates need corrected (calibrated) before they make sense as commonly understood calendar dates. Tree-ring dating has supplied the primary reference data used to calibrate radiocarbon dates, and now researchers form the LTRR (notably Charlotte Pearson) are contributors to the new internationally agreed standards for radiocarbon calibration, known as IntCal20, which have just been released.
